 Engine Hours: 170.4
Personal on board:  Mary, David and the dogs (Princeton & Quanah)
Weather: Clear day with 18 kts winds
Comments: Saturday we took the dingy to the hook along with the dogs.
Quanah hit the sand and look like a bull dozer pushing the sand with his
face.  The funniest thing was him chasing a bird.  Those short legs were a
blur.  He probably chased it 100 yards.  Quite proud of himself.  Most all
other boats left Sunday afternoon.  While it was raining, it wasn’t that
bad!  Monday the forecast was calling for 8-10 ft seas, but that is usually
not much of a problem.  Monday was a clear day with lots of wind.  We pulled
up the anchors and motored over closer to the light house.  After anchoring,
we left the dogs on board and took the dingy to the light house.  After
walking around a bit we headed back to Annabelle.  We left Cape Lookout
under sail.  The seas in the ocean were running 6-8 feet.  We were able to
sail almost parallel to the shore, but on a diverging course.  We had to
turn into the waves under power, twice, to gain distance from the shore.
Motoring into the waves was more than Princeton & Quanah could handle – both
got sea sick.  Mary was on the edge of being sick, even haven taken
Dramamine.  Once in the Morehead Channel with the waves behind us, they all
felt better.  We were able to sail under the Morehead City bridge and about
half way down the ICW to Oriental before loosing the wind.  We finished the
trip under motor.  Except for the rough ocean sail we all had a great time.
